Team innovation is a hot topic in the field of organizational learning and knowledge management, and innovation performance is also a focus in the field of team innovation. There are a lot of researches on the relationship between team preference,team identity, cohesion and innovation performance. The improvement of team preference will promote team identity, team cohesion and innovation performance, and the improvement of team identity or team cohesion also will promote innovation performance. However, the relationship between the four is still not clear. Based on this,this study intends to discuss the relationship between the four variables, and assume that team identity and team cohesion play a mediating role between team preference and innovation performance.Pre-study verifies the relationship between the variables in the literature review by the interview method, to find research variables from the practical point of view.Interviews were conducted on 16 members from five" College Students' Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program" teams. The findings found that team identity and team cohesion were the two most important factors for team members, and the team identity and team cohesion mentioned in the literature review were the proximate variables of innovation performance.In study 1,the questionnaire was used to investigate the project participants of 312"College Students' Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program" team members in Central China Normal University. The results show that members' team preferences can only improve the performance of individual-level innovation by team identity and team cohesion.In study 2, the questionnaire was combined the results of 134 "College Students'Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program" teams. The results show that improving team preferences can improve team identity and team cohesion, but there is no significant relationship with team-level innovation performance, that is,the improvement of team preference, team identity and team cohesion can not improve the team-level innovation performance. In addition, this paper correlates study 1 and study 2 and analyzes the relationship between them. The results show that the individual-level innovation performance can not predict team-level innovation performance.The results of these studies validate previous assumptions. All the data comes from the actual "College Students' Innovative Entrepreneurship Training Program" team.Finally, this paper analyzes the shortcomings and future prospects of the research, and puts forward the direction of future research from the aspects of research samples and practice.
