| Education technology and curriculum integration has become one of the main methods of modern education,along with the rapid development of information technology.English plays an important role in promoting the progress of the world and the development of society.Writing is an important part of English learning,and always used to evaluate the language comprehension of learners.Mind mapping,presenting the relationship between all levels of themes based on the associated hierarchical maps,is a way to reflect the divergent thinking.Mind mapping using the technique of graphics can be used in the teaching of English writing in the 8th grade of junior middle school,by means of establishing memory links between the theme of keywords,images and colors.It not only achieves the requirements of English curriculum standards of the integration of educational technology and curriculum,but also helps students to stimulate interests in learning,develop divergent thinking and creativity,and improve the ability of language learning and comprehensive use.In this study,we used the Xmind,a mind mapping tool,to carry on the teaching experiments of English writing courses of 8th grade students in Yunxi junior middle school of Nanchang,Jiang Xi.The methods of this study include literature research,questionnaire survey,teacher interview and statistical analysis.This paper is divided into five sections.The first part is the introduction,which mainly elaborates the background,the purpose,the meaning,the content and the method of this research,and current research progress in the world.The second part explains the definition and basic theory supporting this experiment teaching.The third part is the method of using Mind mapping tool Xmind to practice the teaching of English writing in the 8th grade of the junior middle school.This part includes the analysis of the students’ learning situation,the analysis of the teaching unit goal,and the process of makingmultimedia courseware and teaching experiment using Xmind.The next part is the analysis of the effects of experimental teaching.Collect the total test scores with writing scores before and after Xmind teaching in both experiment group and control group.Other relevant experiment data is collected through questionnaires and teacher interview.We used SPSS software to perform data statistics and analysis.Aiming at the problems in the teaching experiment such as deficient diversity in students’ work and lack of self-confidence of students,we put forward some teaching strategies to encourage students to think divergently and write creatively.The final part of this paper is the conclusion and the prospect.This experimental teaching confirmed that applying of Mind mapping tool Xmind to the teaching of English writing in junior middle school is feasible and effective.This teaching method not only helps to stimulate students’ interest in learning,but also cultivate students’ divergent thinking and creativity ability,improve students’ writing skill.This study used modern educational technology to enrich the English writing teaching approaches and improve the quality of English teaching.This research is expected to provide reference to further investigation in this field or related field. |
