This study investigated the dietary nutritional status of female swimmers during the plateau training period, and explored the effect of nutrition education and iron supplementation on blood biochemistry and nutritional status of female swimmers through four weeks. The study was carried out in two steps. The first step was to explore the dietary nutritional status of swimmers through the knowledge, attitude, behavior(KAP)survey, weighing method and blood biochemical tests. The second step of the study, athletes were divided into four groups, they supplemented additional iron or received nutrition education. After four weeks swimmers accepted KAP questionnaire investigation, weighing method and blood biochemical tests for the second time to explore the impact of education and iron supplements on diet nutrition. Finally, the following conclusions are drawn:1.The nutritional knowledge of the swimmers was weak, and the nutritional attitude and dietary behaviors were relatively good through KAP nutrition survey. There was positive correlation between nutritional knowledge and dietary behavior. For nutrition intake,Energy supply proportion of swimmers was unreasonable among Breakfast, lunch, dinner and extra meal. The extra meal supplied too much energy. The main reason for the lack of total energy intake of swimmers was inadequate carbohydrate intake.Athletes generally lack of vitamin intake and a large part of the mineral intake. The athletes' physiological and biochemical indexes were normal, and their iron reserves in the body were normal, this reflected the good physical function of athletes.2.Four weeks of nutrition education can improve the scientific understanding of dietary nutrition to some extent, but did not improve the nutritional attitude and dietary behavior of athletes. The length of time and method of nutrition education should be improved.3.After the nutrition education for four weeks, the nutritional status of athletes did not improve.Problems arised from dietary surveys didn't change to the reasonable direction, therefore, dietary nutrition education had no significant effect on the improvement of dietary behavior.4.Four weeks of nutrition education and iron supplementation can't improve physiological and biochemical indexes, especially iron metabolism related indicators of athletes.Four weeks of nutrition education and iron supplementation failed to enhance the level of iron reserves and physical fitness of athletes.
