With attention coming from society and academic circles at home and abroad society,more and more scholars focus on Gender studies in teaching material.In this,studies of protagonists’ genders is the key point and an important trend of relevant subject research.According to present situation,the number of researches on influence of protagonists’ genders in literary selections of Chinese teaching materials on students’ study is relatively small and more researches should be conducted.Based on theories of Social gender theory,social learning theory and humanistic psychology,the question of how and why the implicit sense of gender inequality affects students’ study will be analyzed and contribute to writing of textbooks and teaching practices.The thesis can be divided into five chapters: the first one mainly expounds the theoretical basis of how protagonists’ genders in selection influence students on their studies;the second one mainly expounds genders general situation of protagonists,analyzing the existing status quo of protagonists from number contrasting,role positioning and the image shaping and illustrating gender inequality in Chinese textbooks;with the help of the questionnaires,third one analyzes how protagonists’ genders in selection influence students’ studies from the perspective of male students,female students and text studying so as to highlight the important influences of protagonists’ genders on students’ studies.The fourth one illustrates the factors of gender culture,teaching material,teachers’ teaching and students themselves,based on the influence on students’ studies from protagonists’ genders in selection.The fifth one focus on strategies for improvement of Chinese textbooks and putting forward some suggestion so as to provide effective reference for real implementation of concept of gender equality in the field of education,according to phenomenon of gender inequality,discussing from education system of textbook,editors and Chinese teacher.
