The present study is to investigate the effect of social synchrony to attention bias of college students with different levels of implicit aggression. In experiment 1,the implicit aggression of 180 college students were examined by IAT and chose 45 college students with higher levels and 45 college students with lower levels of implicit aggression, and there was the significant difference between implicit aggression of two groups. In experiment 2,a 2×3 design was chosen with between-subjects factor group(two levels of implicit aggression: higher implicit aggression / lower implicit aggression, three conditions of social synchrony: synchrony group / asynchrony group / control group),attentional bias scores on two eye movement indicators(first-pass fixation time and number of fixations)were the dependent variable.Firstly, let the 90 selected subjects take the social synchrony experiment,we divided the higher and lower implicit aggression groups into three conditions of social synchronyrandomly, and there were 15 subjects in each group. Then,we examined the attention bias of subjects through the eye movement experiment. The results indicated that:(1)the college students with high implicit aggression had obvious attention biases to the non-hostile cues of ambiguously hostile situations, and this result supports the idea that high aggression individuals make early hostile interpretations prior to encoding hostile and non-hostile cues;(2)after social synchrony, the attention biases to the non-hostile cues of ambiguously hostile situations of college students with high implicit aggression were weakened obviously;(3)after social synchrony, there was no change on the attention biases to the non-hostile cues of ambiguously hostile situations of college students with low implicit aggression. These results show that social synchrony could reduce the aggression tendency of individuals with high implicit aggression, and does not have a negative impact on the individuals with low implicit aggression.
