Voluntary physical exercise is a performance that involving self-studying,self-practicing,self-evaluating and self-controlling.For college students,exercise voluntarily encourages them to be an active participator in any types of physical activities in campus,and might have a positive impact on their commitment to sports after their graduation.Currently,college students are lack of consciousness of voluntary exercises and are lack of knowledge on how to do physical exercises scientifically.They neither are consciously aware of taking voluntary exercise nor accepting the concept of lifelong sports.Therefore,the priority of physical education in college is to cultivating students' capability of voluntary physical exercise.This article is focusing on the theories of voluntary physical exercise by questionnairing,interviewing,observing current phenomenon of voluntary physical exercise of college students.The study shows that college students are all aware of the importance of physical fitness,and there is sense of taking voluntary physical exercise with multi-purposes and motivations.But they are lack of awareness of importance of health to personal development.Time,frequency and intensity can be major factors for achieving expected physical exercise effect.There are gender differences in exercise for men and women.But running is what they share in common.Taking exercise with friends is the most popular manifestation.College students are forming the idea of voluntary physical exercise,but most of them are incapable of scheduling and implementing by themselves.Burden of studies causes insufficient time,lack of money,lack of playgrounds and sports apparatus,low expectations of fitness and lack of interests are the major factors.By understanding the situation of voluntary physical exercise of college students,analyzing the result of survey,finding existing problems,I propose three modes of physical education strategies: collaborative teaching mode,fun-based teaching mode and situational teaching mode with three principle,being activity and positive,teaching in accordance with students' aptitude and lifelong sports,followed.The aim is to develop their awareness of lifelong sports and voluntary physical exercise.The article also focuses on the eight effective strategies of forming college students' idea of taking voluntary physical exercise.Cultivating correct values andconcepts of physical exercise.Setting attainable goal for physical exercise.Imparting knowledge and training students to master methodologies of physical exercise.Constructing reasonable and effective teaching system.Improving exercise atmosphere and exercise facilities and equipments.Organizing various sports competitions.Establishing good teacher-student relationship and scientific evaluation and assessment system.The research enriches the theory of voluntary physical exercise,provides reference for related studies and guidance for further instruction of building college students' capacity of voluntary physical exercise,which have referential significance for physical education in universities.
