The frequent occurrence of school bullying in the current society has attracted more and more attention, and in the meanwhile aroused the hot discussion among all circles of the society, including the discussion of language violence among students.Based on the research data of language violence at home and abroad, the author has found that the research and analysis of language violence in the past were done from two different perspectives: one is the improper use of language and the use of uncivilized language, and the other the relationship between language and power. On the basis of predecessors’ research, this paper argues that language violence generally refers to all the acts of violating others in discourse by virtue of their power and superiority. It is a kind of veritable violence in the process of language communication. This paper takes one secondary vocational school in Guangdong Province as a case, and adopts participatory observation method and interview method to carry out investigation and theoretical analysis of language violence among secondary vocational school students. The results are as follows:First, the current situation of the language violence among the students in the vocational school is presented, based on which language violence is defined as actions that cause others to feel personally and mentally hurt or feel uncomfortable through the oral or written form, intentionally or unintentionally, using nicknames, ridicule, intimidation, slander, abuse and other uncivilized behaviors in the process of interaction among the individuals or groups of students,by virtue of their own power and superior status,in the specific secondary vocational school field.Second, based on the discourse role theory, the characters in the language violence among the secondary vocational students are classified. That is,the participants are divided into three roles, which are language violence practitioners, victims and bystanders, according to the relationship between the participants and the discourse information in the process of interaction.Besides, the characteristics and behaviors of each role are described. What needs to be particularly pointed out is that the language violence among students will bring adverse impact on the individual growth of students, school culture, and social development.Third, theoretical attribution is drawn through the use of Pierre bourdieu’s “field-habitus” theory on the language violence among vocational students. The language violence among the secondary vocational students is not only the result of the individual’s language misuse or the bad individual psychological state in the course of communication, but of the interaction of the three results of the inherent imprint of the family field, the impact of the special field of the secondary school and the individual-specific temperament system.Fourth, according to the results of attribution,a series of measures and programs are proposed to prevent and resolve the language violence among vocational students. The prevention and control of language violence in vocational schools can not solely rely on the schools or student individuals. In order to achieve the consistency of education effect, the support from families and all circles should be combined as well.
