Oral English as one of the four major skills,is the embodiment of the comprehensive use of language skills.In recent years,with the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the problem of oral communication ability has been paid more and more attention to.Oral English is a very important part of English learning process,it directly affects the development of students' comprehensive English ability.Oral English communication skills play an extremely important role in improving students' ability to study English for life.A fluent spoken English has become the basic means of communication in today' s world.However,in these years' implement,the new standard of the primary school students English oral communication ability still exists many problems.Especially for primary school students in rural areas,there is a big problem in oral English communication skills.For example:local teachers can not find efficient English oral teaching methods;rural primary school students can not find efficient oral communication skills learning methods,and they only recite those content with no ability to apply the knowledge,even worse,they can only recite the most simple dialogue in basic texts.In order to improve the oral English communicative ability of rural primary school students,the author of this paper takes the rural primary school students in He Long City in Jilin Province as the research object.The author uses the questionnaire survey and classroom observation method for investigation and study to investigate the current situation of oral English communicative ability of these pupils and also answers the following questions and analyzes the cause to find a solution:1.What is the present situation of English oral communicative competence of rural primary school students in He Long City?2.What are the factors that influence the development of English oral communicative competence of rural primary school students in He Long City?3.What are the strategies that can help improve English oral communicative competence of rural primary school students in He Long City?The thesis consists of altogether five sections:The first section is the introduction part.The author introduces the background,questions,purpose and significance of the research and the framework of the thesis.The second seciton is the literature review.The author introduces the theoretical base of oral communicative competence,the requirement of new curriculum standard to pupils' oral English communicative competence as well as the research status of oral English students in rural areas at home and abroad.All that will pave way for the further study.The third section is the process of this study.The author elaborates the research process,the research object and the research methods.The author also illustrates the analysis and discussion of the research result.The main content of this section includes the following two aspects:(1)the results and discussion of the questionnaire,which includes the results and discussion of teacher surveys and the survey of student questionnaires;(2)the discussion and results of classroom teaching observation.This part includes an investigation of teachers' teaching situation and students' learning situation.The forth section is the solution to the problems in the teaching of oral English in rural primary schools.There are two small parts in this section.One is the problems existing in the rural primary school students oral English teaching,including teachers' and students' problems,including teachers' problems and students' problems.The second one is the strategies towards the existing problems in.the rural primary school students oral English teaching,including to improve the teacher' s oral teaching ability;to improve the enthusiasm of students to learn oral English and that the school and society should create good oral learning atmosphere.Section five is the conclusion.The conclusion of the research can be summarized.Besides,the limitations of this study are also mentioned in this section.
