Ou Yangxiu's Thoughts On Chinese Education

Ou Yangxiu as one of the "Eight Great Men of Letters of Tang and Song",leading the ancient prose movement in Song Dynasty to the climax,the writing is always an important research object of ancient writers and critics.Though he was not walk up to the platform,but devoted his life to promoting youth,a lot of disciples gathered around him,his mind and the style of writing are inherited by them,these also have an impact on Contemporary Chinese education.Generally speaking,Ou Yangxiu's thought of Chinese education includes two parts,his reading and writing and the practice of Chinese education,this paper mainly discussed the two aspects.This preface briefly introduces the research status,significance and research methods.And the first section is the main part of the article,discusses Ou Yangxiu's reading view of distinguishing reading,the writing view,including the view of Wen Tao,language and characters,language and meaning and the specific writing methods.The second section describes the practice of Chinese education from three aspects:his growth path by reading classic and his writing practice under general language education influences later textbooks;reformed imperial examinationinitiatives and changed the reading and writing style of scholars;open the "Ou Men" and transmit mind later.The third section illustrates the Enlightenment of his Chinese educational thought to the teaching of reading and writing.The fourth section briefly describes the development and utilization of Ou Yangxiu's article as a Chinese curriculum resource.
