Geographical learning motivation refers to the reason students generate geography learning behavior.Specifically speaking that students to meet their own needs for geographical knowledge or by some external factors,triggering and maintaining their own behavior to obtain geographic knowledge,resulting in a lasting and stable learning bias for geography learning activities.This subject is based on different classification basis,the geographical motivation is divided into internal motivations and external motivations,near-field motivations and telepathic motivations,cognitive motivations,self-motivated motives,and subordinate motivations.This paper uses the questionnaire survey,the literature research method,the classroom observation method and the statistical analysis method to study and analyze the geography learning motive of the first year of Baoding second middle school students and find that the motivation of high school students is at a moderate level and the motivation intensity is not high.At the same time,the application of demand motivation theory,self-efficacy theory,achievement motivation theory,motivation theory and success attribution theory to study the motivation of geography,and put forward the strategy of motivating students to learn geography in the first year,there are: rational design of classroom teaching links,to cultivate students' interest in learning;improve the high first grade students' ability of geography learning;guide the high first grade students to the correct attribution of failure;establish the correct concept of achievement,and customize the appropriate learning goals;evaluation criteria should be scientific and diversified;enhance the development of geographic knowledge research,to help students a correct understanding of the value of geographical knowledge;geography teachers have to stimulate their own strategy: improve their own qualities,and establish a model for teachers;establish a new teacher-student relationship;giving students a reasonable expectation of geography;the school's stimulating strategy: to create a good geographical learning atmosphere;reasonable arrangement of geography courses;the introduction of new multimedia classrooms and teaching tools;to guide students to achieve junior high school geography and high school geography of thetransition,lay the foundation for future learning.Geography education is to promote the comprehensive development of the individual,enhance the geographical quality,for the realization of sustainable development of society has a very important significance.The first year is a critical stage in learning geography,it is undertaking junior high school geography,for the future high school stage of geography to lay the foundation for the best period.The study of the geography learning motivations of the first year students is not only to enrich the theory and practice of high school geography learning motivation,but also to change the status of high school geography curriculum,to promote the new curriculum reform in depth,the implementation of quality education,to enhance the students' geographical quality.
