Vocabulary is the most basic element in English. Vocabulary does influence the students' language skills in that it plays an increasingly significant role of English Teaching in junior high school. However, the current situation of vocabulary teaching in junior high school is less than satisfactory. Although we are in the era of information, the English teaching methods which are carried out by many teachers are still traditional. The traditional teaching methods cause English learning polarization, for example,amounts of students have a weak English foundation, leading to the low efficiency of English teaching. Recently, the Multimedia aided English teaching is the main trend of contemporary English teaching, which is also a reform. The Multimedia aided teaching greatly enriches teaching methods and optimizes the class structure, with the introduction of text, graphics, images,voice, and kinds of multimedia software into the teaching practice, which helps to improve teaching quality. In recent days, most of English teachers are aware of the advantages of multimedia teaching, but the application of multimedia is only PPT. Hence, It is urgent to explore a new vocabulary teaching method to improve the English Vocabulary Teaching in junior middle school. This paper summarizes the concept of multimedia and the definition of multimedia. And it also analyzes the theoretical basis of Multimedia aided English teaching, including Constructivism theory, Audio-visual theory,Cooperative theory, which provides theoretical support for the further study of Multimedia aided English teaching. Accordant with Audio-visual theory,Constructism theory, Situational teaching theory, Cooperative theory,multimedia teaching helps establish a student-centered teaching model, and cultivate students' language skills, in order to deepen and promote the development of English Teaching in middle schools.After the two months of vocabulary teaching practice, the effects of Multimedia aided vocabulary teaching is fully verified. With the application of multimedia teaching model and pre-test, middle-test, post-test, and survey for students, the survey results and the author's hypothesis have high consistency, that is the multimedia mode helps to improve the effectiveness of vocabulary teaching in junior high school and promote the students'vocabulary ability. However, teachers should avoid weaknesses in the application of multimedia vocabulary teaching mode,in case of the negative effects.
