A Study On Autism Spectrum Disorder Children’s Family Function And Its Influencing Factors

Individual growth and development is connected with the family,which is an important social environment system.From the perspective of system theory this study of family issues is a research development trend of different disciplines including the current psychological counseling,clinical intervention,therapeutic areas,sociology and pedagogy.Similarly,there is a close relationship between the individual development of autistic children and the inherent dynamic characteristics of their families.Besides,as a kind of abnormal condition,children autism has important influence on relationship and family function for family members and there is a huge challenge for the family.This study regards autism spectrum disorder children’s family function as a research starting point and explores the intimacy and the adaptability function characteristic of ASD family and its related influencing factors.This study has important theoretical significance on exploring the special children and family system interactive power relation and has also important practical guiding significance for family counseling and intervention guidance for ASD family.This study mainly uses the questionnaire for 190 parents from ordinary families and 166 parents from ASD family and it’s about family intimacy and adaptability.This study contrasts and analyzes the two groups of families’ intimacy and adaptability of family function and type traits differences.On this basis,in view of the ASD children’s family,this study also analyses other family influencing factors(marriage quality and mental resilience).In addition,through interview this study further analyzes the characteristics and influencing factors of the ASD children family intimacy and adaptability.This study gets conclusions as follows:First,for the family intimacy and adaptability,ASD children’s family function level were significantly lower than normal children’s family.About the family type,balance family is the biggest proportion in two group of families,but the proportion ofbalance type family of ASD children’s family was significantly lower than normal children’ family;the proportion of extreme type family(rigid-loose)was significantly higher than normal children’s family.Second,ASD children’s family intimacy are influenced by parents’ autonomy,marital satisfaction and communication between husband and wife three main factors.The family adaptability are influenced by parents’ tenacity,education level,marital satisfaction and communication between husband and wife four factors.Aiming at how to improve the function of family,this paper raises some suggestions for society and parents:Make related legal policy and ensure the ASD children’s legitimate rights and interests;coordinate government’s each departments and improve the ASD family assistance service system;take corresponding measures and reduce ASD family’s economic burden;strengthen the management of institutions and improve the overall level;strengthen school and community service and perfect the social support system;strengthen the propaganda and eliminate social discrimination and relieve ASD parental mental stress.Parents need to keep a positive and optimistic attitude towards life and cultivate good quality of toughness and autonomy;strengthen the emotional communication and enhance relationship between husband and wife and improve marital satisfaction;raise their parents’ level and alleviate psychological pressure;share commonly family responsibility and improve the family adaptability;establish ASD mutual aid organization and seek psychological assistance.
