| In 1980s,teacher empowerment movement swept across the world,hundreds of years of school inherent bureaucracy began to shake,the tool orientation of curriculum mode technology is gradually broken.Teachers began to play an increasingly important role in the selection of curriculum content,text books,implementation,as well as school budget,personnel assessment,development planning and programming.Teacher has gradually become one of the most important leaders,actors and core characters of education reforms.Under the background of globalization education reform and teacher empowerment movement.The research investigated 1101 kindergarten teachers in China and found the current Chinese kindergarten teacher empowerment current condition shows the following salient features:1.The situation of kindergarten teacher empowerment in our country is higher than that of foreign teachers.The average score of empowerment scale is 3.87 out of 5,appraoching to the upper level.The preschool teachers in China have more autonomy and the opportunity to participate in school decision-making.Teacher empowerment movement has achieved initial results;2.The development of kindergarten teacher empowerment is not balanced,the external empowerment is significantly lower than the internal empowerment,decision making,autonomy dimension is the lowest,the professional growth and self-efficacy are the highest.Teachers are lack of opportunities for participation in decision-making,and lack of autonomy and free space on the issues closely related to themselves;3.Kindergarten teacher empowerment situation has significant regional differences.The eastern part of the kindergarten teachers have higher scores in the professional growth,self-efficacy than teachers in the middle and the west;but their scores are significantly lower in autonomy and decision making dimensions.The overall score of teacher empowerment in northeast China is higher than other places.In the study of the influencing factors of kindergarten teachers’ empowerment,we found that preschool teacher empowerment showed an obvious regional,urban and rural differences.The score of rural preschool teachers is generally higher than that of urban teachers.In addition,the size of the kindergarten as well as the school owner also has an impact on kindergarten teacher empowerment.The smaller the size of the kindergarten,the higher the sense of empowerment.The sense of empowerment of private kindergarten teachers is higher than that of public kindergartens.Preschool teachers’ empowerment score is related to preschool teachers’ individual differences,:men have a higher status and more decision-making power than women;Older teachers with higher positions are more likely to have more power than the younger teachers without administrative duties.Teacher empowerment is an urgent need for teachers to be independent and self-determined as a transformative intellectual.After a large amount of literature review and a long time observation in kindergartens,the author thinks that the reasons of the current difficulties in the development of educational empowerment lie in:1.The.organization internal revolution affects the actual effect of teacher empowerment;2.Teachers linger in the comfort zone and the lack of external support makes teachers hesitate in the reform;3.The wrong interpretation of the teacher’s gravity center makes it difficult for the teacher to give full play to the professional authority.Based on the above reasons,researcher put forward 4 suggestions:1.Change the concept of power;2.Pay attention to the core professional qualities of Teachers;3.Promoting institutional change and providing external support;4.Exert the power of teachers’community and teachers group. |
