With the further development of the new curriculum reform,the affective education in English learning and teaching is drawing more and more people's attention.English Curriculum Standards takes the affective teaching as one of the important objectives,but the teachers and the scholars haven't paid enough attention on the paths to realize the affective aim.As is known,only understanding the situation of the paths to realize the affective aim in junior middle school English teaching at present,can we take measures to optimize the teaching effect.Textbook compilation and class teaching are the two main ways to realize the affective aim in junior middle school English teaching.Based on the observation,this thesis will study the paths to realize the affective aim in junior middle school English teaching mainly from two aspects: one is mainly static analysis to the teaching materials and the other is dynamic investigation to the class teaching.For the teaching materials,the writer analyzes the proportion of the contents and forms for affective aim in New Standard English(in 2012).As for the class teaching,the writer adopts such methods as observation,questionnaires and interview to investigate strategies adopted by junior middle school English teachers to complement the affective aim in different types of lessons and different occasions of lessons.The research results show that the teaching materials complement the affective aim mainly through the form of affective materials and the content design of affective materials.In terms of class teaching,three paths are often employed: the first one is to penetrate the affective aims naturally throughout the whole teaching;the second one is to complement some affective elements just at the end of teaching,which performs very formally just like one person wearing a hat only after putting up all of his clothes;the last one is to apply the affective elements so mechanically even if there is no relationship between the teaching contents and the affective aims.Aimed at above observation that the research has found,the writer tries to propose some specific suggestions for improvement.Firstly,on the one hand,according to the requirements for affective aim in English Curriculum Standards(revised in 2011)and the rules of the cognitive development for the junior middle school students,the teaching materials of New Standard English(in 2012)should balance the proportion of both the contents and forms for affective aim in each Book;On the other hand,the teachers can take advantage of the multi-media to design lessons,such as PPT and Micro-lectures which are full of the affective materials.Secondly,the English teachers should carefully study New Standard English(in 2012)and teaching materials,what's more,they should also enrich their knowledge in pedagogy and psychology,both of which will help them carry out the affective aim smoothly.Meanwhile,some teaching cases are provided for references in this study.There are some deficiencies and limitations of situation,so it will need to further improve during the process of the theoretical learning and teaching practice in future.
