With the growing popularity of smart phones and increasingly rich functionality, the number of mobile phone users is also increasing. These rich features at the same time brought a lot of convenience to people's lives, on the other hand, also brings new problems. At present, mobile phone dependence is gradually changing the lives and behavior of individuals, which may even have an impact on people's mental and physical health. Students in vocational schools are in the teens. They both physically and psychologically are in the critical period of growth and development, and more receptive to new things. At the same time relatively poor self-control, problem of cell phone use is easy to make young people dependent on it.Objective: This study aims to investigate the status of cell phone use, cell phone dependence, physical and mental health of nursing students in Jinzhou medical vocational school by questionnaire. Research on the influential factors of cell phones dependence and how cell phones dependence influence on physical and mental health, in order to attach great importance on vocational students' cell phones dependence. We hope to provide a scientific basis and method for prevention and intervention of vocational students' cell phones dependence.Method: A cross-sectional survey was conducted in Jinzhou Medical Vocational School. It carried out a cluster sampling method to produce a representative sample of vocational students including all the students in Grade 1 and Grade 2 who was at school. A total of 655 students were approached, and 600 completed the survey: thus, the valid response rate was 91.6%. Data input was used by Epidata3.1 and SPSS19.0 for statistical analysis. Statistical methods used included t test, ANOVA, correlation analysis, Chi-square test, multiple liner regression analysis and so on.Results:1. Students' gender, grades, single child or not, single-parent family or not, and residence resulted in no significantly difference in mobile phone dependence.2. The education of father and mother result in significantly difference in mobile phone dependence.3. Family average gross income in month resulted in no significantly difference in mobile phone dependence, physical and psychological effects and craving(P<0.05). And result in significantly difference in withdrawal syndrome(P<0.05).4. Average monthly total consumption resultede in significantly difference in mobile phone dependence, craving and withdrawal syndrome(P<0.05).5. Personal monthly mobile phone consumption resulted in significantly difference in mobile phone dependence, craving, withdrawal syndrome and physical and psychological effects(P<0.05).6. The year of mobile phone use resulted in significantly difference in mobile phone dependence and craving(P<0.05), and resulted in no significantly difference in withdrawal syndrome and physical and psychological effects(P<0.05).7. Mobile phone daily usage time resulted in significantly difference in mobile phone dependence, craving, withdrawal syndrome and physical and psychological effects(P<0.05).Conclusion:1. Mobile phone addiction increased as the increase of average monthly total consumption and personal monthly mobile phone consumption.2. The longer years of cell phone use, and the longer time of using a mobile phone before going to bed, the more prone to phone-dependent.3. The higher the degree of cell phone dependence, the more prone to physical symptoms.4. The score of K10, vocational students' psychological health, had correlations with mobile phone-dependent score, craving, withdrawal syndrome and physical and psychological effects. Excessive mobile phone-dependent will have negative impact on physical and mental health of vocational students.
