In the era of information interaction,cultivating students' writing expression is not only social need,but also an important task for Chinese teaching.To achieve it,the most direct method is writing teaching.Therefore,it is a common wish that elevate the effect of writing teaching.Currently,there are many methods for writing teaching,but it is still on debate that which one is the best.In this paper,it doesn't judge those methods.It focuses on application research of imitation method in junior high school,and based on the survey in in Affiliated Middle School of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University,figure out the real teaching situation of imitation method in junior high school.For problems in the imitation method teaching,some suggestions are mentioned in this paper,which can be used as reference for others.With designed field research,how imitation method works has been investigated.By analysis of the survey,it is found that even through imitation method has been applied in this junior high school,some problem exist.For example,some teachers don't set clear targets for students,that is,students don't know why they need to do imitation writing,what they should imitate,and what the expectation of imitation training is.Hence students cannot relate imitation writing to the regular writing.Sample selection is another issue.Teachers may build standards for students to choose sample passages used for imitation.It can cause that it is hard to do peer comparison,since students are inclined to choose different sample articles.Moreover,enough article analysis from teachers also matters.Sometimes,teachers haven't elaborated the sample article,especially for creating skills and creating method,which leads to the low efficiency of imitation writing.Teachers should address these skills and methods during teaching.Otherwise students would lack knowledge and standards to choose imitation writing styles.Even for evaluation part,teachers may not do it scrupulously,and students cannot figure out what their weakness is,let alone improving their imitation writing.After imitation writing training,following creative writing should be emphasized,since it is the final aim to strengthen students' writing ability.However,some teachers haven't paid great attention on creative writing,so imitation writing gets meaningless.On account of above problems,this paper presents some practical suggestions and strategies.Teachers should plan the imitation writing training with key points,and deliver these key points to students.During the training process,it is better to set several milestones benefiting students.Meanwhile,teachers are responsible to build standards and rules for sample passage selection.When teachers choose sample articles,they also need to relate students' age to articles' theme.As for analysis of imitation writing models,tutors ought to adopt suitable teaching strategies that is beneficial for students in the aspect of cumulating writing experience further on enriching writing skills.Evaluation for imitation writing is an essential task for teachers,and they should give exact comments and recommendation to students.To make the evaluation more effective,it is feasible that encourage students to do peer evaluation.Of course,all teachers and students must know the final target is to elevating creative writing,and imitation writing is a method to approach the target.Therefore,when students have enough basis of writing,teachers will stress creative writing ability of students,and tutor students.
