Individuation theory is an important topic of classical sociology study. There are two main consequences of this;the disintegration of social norms and social forms, which include gender roles, family norms, social status, social class etc.The state and social regulation set by the standard mode, role rule, reference system no longer has reference value. In this context, the family has undergone profound changes;from gender roles between men and women, profound changes in marital relations,to diversified family form that break the traditional single-family model. This study is based on the empirical evidence of CGSS2012 national comprehensive social survey,Especially the conceptual measurement of family module, combined with statistical software and mathematical analysis,in order to understand three dimensions of the family concept of rural residents in terms of gender roles division, diversity family acceptance and relation between generations, and then compared with the existing studies.Based on the three dimensions of the family concept as well as the perspective of power and obligation, the rural residents were clustered into different groups based on scores on the family concept. The results show the popular idea of "both men and women should earn money to support their family",with more emphasis on gender stereotypes. It is still the mainstream concept to assume family responsibilities, for a different level of family diversity At the same time,it further explored that the rural residents should be divided into four types:"family-driven","individual-centered","family dedication-oriented" and "stripping",recommendations and conclusions will be given based on residents group type.
