Marx And Engels' Conception On Marriage And Family And The Current Construction Of Chinese Rural Families

As one of classical manuscripts of marxist sociology,Der Ursprung der Familie, des Privateigentums und des Staats (Ursprung for short),Engels showed a number of scientific views on marriage and family in it.But these viewpoints are very fragmentary and scattered, and nobody sorts out them systematically.The question whether the views are valuable and useful nowdays will be probed deeply in the paper.Family problems are global phenomena, which have also been a worldwide joint research and concern. At present, China is experiencing rapid economic growth and dramatic transformation of social structures,and the economic, political, scientific, educational, cultural aspects of rural families have also encountered an unprecedented large-scale development. But with the restriction of the dual structure of urban-rural area and the impacts of rural population, geography and other factors, Chinese rural families are also faced with various problems.The family researchers in the field always place emphasis on academic research from sociology, psychology, pathology and other discipline-specific subjects to study the various family problems. This paper will attempt to research on family issues from macro perspective, that is, from the family-building point of view to find out a solution to solve the problem of China's rural families. The construction of Chinese rural families requires a certain theoretical guidance, which is the task that the paper has to realize first. In the paper, with the actual situation in Chinese rural families, we need Marx and Engels'concepts on marriage and family to conduct the construction of Chinese rural families.In the whole environment of building a harmonious society and a new socialist countryside in China, with the status quo of Chinese rural family development, the paper proposes that the construction of China's rural families should include the following five parts at least: the concepts of family, family ethics, family structure, family relationships and family functions. After analyzing the factors that impact and restrict the construction of Chinese rural families deeply, we must observe the guiding ideology and principles which are Marx and Engels'concept of marriage and family-oriented, be guided by the core values of the socialist society and be based on our traditional family virtues to construct Chinese rural families, as well as establishing a new concept of family construction, strengthening the moral construction of rural families, actively promoting the functions of rural families to shift towards modernization, exploring the correct principles and arts that handle family relationships, insisting and expanding the benefits of agricultural policies, integrating the educational resources to improve the educational level of rural areas that is to enhance the quality of people who are the main bodies of families, and improving and perfecting the laws and systems on Chinese rural families. Considering the economic level and the cultural and psychological characteristics in our country, the paper proposes a series of measures of constructing rural households which conform to the situation in our country, trying to explore a practical way suitable for the development of rural families in our country.
