At present,global warming has threatened the sustainable development of human beings and becomes a common challenge.Therefore,low-carbon economy and lowcarbon tourism are required at the moment.However,although the tourism industry is in its continuous development,its carbon dioxide emissions are also increasing.If maintain the existing growth and development mode,the tourism industry will no longer be the small-environmental-pollution,low-resource-consumption "smokeless industry".In the process of tourism to reduce carbon emissions and carbon footprint is an important part of low-carbon tourism and low carbon economy,and most importantly,whether the tourists have low carbon Tourism literacy is the key to practice low-carbon tourism.Low-carbon literacy is a new issue in low-carbon tourism.Low carbon Tourism literacy reflects the individual's understanding and awareness of energy saving and emission reduction in tourism activities,and the ability to make low-carbon tourism decisions.A comprehensive grasp and structure of low carbon Tourism literacy,helps to stimulate tourists to have a correct cognition,establish a positive attitude,and lead behavior effectively on the environmental problems and low-carbon tourism.It is also one of the urgency of the practice of low carbon Tourism management.It is of great practical significance to explore the path of low-carbon tourism from the perspective of low carbon Tourism quality.The purpose of this study is to develop and validate a scale assessing college students' low-carbon literacy.Following the pilot test and formal test,a 46-item scale of low-carbon literacy was examined by examples of 808 college students in three Universities in Jiangxi province.The exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis were carried to examine the reliability and validity of the scale.(1)The results identify seven critical indictors of low-carbon literacy with 30 items: attitudes and values,action strategy,action intent,behavior,knowledge of low-carbon issues,sensitivity and traffic behavior.(2)The dimensions of the relationship between the composition of the overall low carbon Tourism literacy also showed a significant positive correlation,especially behavioral intentions,attitudes and values.(3)College students' low carbon Tourism literacy is generally on the medium level.There is stillroom for improvement,and there are significant differences among individuals.(4)The individual characteristics of college students have a significant impact on low carbon Tourism literacy,and family factors have a certain impact,but little effect.The practical and theoretical applications of low-carbon literacy scale are also discussed within the framework of low-carbon tourism as well as sustainable tourism development.
