Whether it is from the needs of language learners or the demand for foreign language talents,communication is the most fundamental purpose and task of foreignlanguage learning.However,for Chinese teaching in the Vietnamese high schools,mastery of knowledge and skill training are still set as teaching objectives,and language points as the evaluation criteria,much work should be done in the communicative orientation of teaching research and practice.the way to achieve the goal of cultivating students' communicative competence,Vietnamese high school Chinese teaching needs many changes.Inside,the author deemed the communication-oriented unit design was a feasible path.For the purpose of cultivatingcommunicative competence of Chinese,and using unit design as a breakthrough to improve teaching,It is of great significance for the reform and development of Vietnamese Chinese teaching.Specifically,the communication-oriented unit design absorbs the theory of communicative competence and its derived communicative approach as well as the reverse design method proposed by Wiggins and McTighe.With specific Chinese communicative functionsas the teaching goal,it designs the teaching unitsin reverse steps of "Confirmation of expected learning results-determination of acceptable evaluating evidence--design of learning plan".Apart from the requirements of learning content,determination ofteaching objectives and evaluating evidencemainly takes into account the students' performance in real communicative situations,and learning activities focus on order and coherence through the creation of real communicative situations which gives students the opportunity to learn to use the language knowledge and skills,so as to achieve the purpose of communication.In this framework,Analysis of the high Chinese textbook of cf middle school inVietnam,Lift outthe expression in social activities,the expression of subjective emotion and the expression of imperative instruction.These three kinds of communicative functions play significant roles in their current and future needs of communication.At the same time,according to different kinds of communicative functions and corresponding text content,the specific topics in the text are explored to design a variety of communication tasks suitable for senior students of senior one,and tried to make them interesting and moderately challenging.In addition,a specific teaching case was selected for each theme unit,presenting the micro structure of the teaching unit in detail.The Unit unit design provides a concrete and feasible reference for the cultivation of students' communicative competence in Vietnamese high school as a foreign language.However,it is worth to pay attention to the optimization of unit design from the evaluation criteria and methods and the design of communication task,and to improve the ability of teachers' unit design in a variety of ways,and finally go to teaching materials or curriculum development.
