Researchon The Relationship Between Social Support Network And Changes Of Family Status Of The Elderly

Old-age care is the unavoidable stage in every person's life course and an important function of family and society.In the traditional Chinese agricultural society,family is the production unit,the elderly is the center of family,the elderly in the family have supreme right and wealth flows to the elderly,so the old-age care is based on the family support network,and is also the basic family function.However,since the reform and opening up,the economic and social development greatly accelerated industrialization and urbanization process,most of the modern families are not production unit,and a large number of rural young people work in the city,occupational income becomes the main source of household income.Family units keep increasing,and it has been hard for the elderly to control their children's production and life,wealth flow is no longer one-way up,the elderly family status is declining,so the traditional family-supportive old-age care function is weakening.The family status of the elderly is a measure of their mental health and happiness,research on their family status is important to analyze their demand and solve their problems.Former scholars had plenty of research on the old people's educational level,economic status,physical condition and occupation,but there are less research on the relationship between social support and family status of the elderly.People are living in a large social environment,social interaction and support from others is the key to the happy life of the elderly in his later years.Many studies have shown that social interaction and interpersonal support have an important influence on the physiology and psychology of the elderly.Social support network is an important measure of the social interaction and social support of the elderly.Firstly,comparative analysis is conducted among economic status,family rights and emotional support of the elderly in times of traditional agricultural society,the planned economy period and post-reform and opening up period,to analyze the changes of their family status from the traditional agricultural society to the modern society.Taking Luqiao community in Jiangsu Province as an case,through interview and questionnaire,etc.,research is carried out on elderly people's family status from three factors,namely,economic status,decision-making power and emotional support.Secondly,it studies the social support network,i.e.the support for the elderly from the government,the community,the family and the peers,and analyzes how the socialsupport network affects elderly people's family status from the aspects of economic supply,social interaction and mental support.Then,the author will make recommendations on social work from the perspective of elderly people's family status.Finally,the author will summarize the changes in the family status of the elderly and how social support network has impact on it.
