| At present, with the rapid progress of science and technology, mobile Internet has aroused a second revolution of Internet. In the area of education, an integration of both traditional classroom teaching and online education has formed a new teaching model. MOOCs (Mass Online Open Courses) has become one of the pronouns of this new trend.The rise of MOOCs is a symbol indicating online education’s entering into the Internet. This revolution started from top US colleges and the universities announces its significant value to the world:these massive, online, open and academic courses have many features such as free-spirit, high-efficiency, high-quality, flexibility and high-technology. In contrast, it has exposed the problems of traditional education, and it has deeply influenced education systems worldwide even in top universities.This paper collected the important moments and significant events of MOOCs’ development and the application range, and gave a brief classification of MOOCs. Moreover, combined with the data of the Internet technology development, the author did quantitative analysis to research the speed and effect of MOOCs’ development, the author compared MOOCs with traditional education from the perspective of study resources, learning style and teaching management mode. Besides, the author gave a detail of challenges and opportunities which brought by MOOCs for the higher education in China. MOOCs has made a positive impact on China’s higher education reform. That was, sufficient teaching resources allowed universities to offer more personalized training scheme for their students. After reform, it would be helpful to strength students’ practical and innovative ability. This would make the universities pay more attention to cultivate talents who could meet the demand of society and industry, their own teachers and their international development. Due to the disadvantages of information technology applications, the economic universities was falling behind with engineering colleges in MOOCs’ construction. Based on the research of southwestern university of finance and economics, this paper compared the MOOCs’construction progress of different universities in the same area and MOOCs’construction mode of economics. Also, this paper made a plan of MOOCs’construction and its progress in application.The results showed that although the efficiency and quality of education which was improved with the help of the Internet and computer technology, education was an interactive process of teachers and students. MOOCs would never substitute higher education owing to the lack of practice education and excessive freedom. MOOCs’ academic seriousness made study credits and achievements not do get certification. But MOOCs’ advantages should be learnt by educators of higher education. With the help of MOOCs, universities could pay more attention on the practical abilities and creative entrepreneurship of students, make more progress for future cultivating system reform and hybrid teaching.The contribution of this paper involved two aspects of technology application and management innovation in higher education reform. First, MOOCs is highly integrated information technology and education. This paper compared MOOCs with traditional higher education from the perspective of information technology application, exposing the disadvantages of higher education and proving that it could solve some problems by some technology combination. Second, MOOCs solved the problems of education resources sharing, eliminating the block existing between universities and society, also between different universities. The work way of MOOCs determined that MOOCs could existing as an auxiliary education resource. Through this species management innovation, colleges could make reasonable allocation of education resources and expanded the width and depth of subject construction. |
