| The senior high school entrance examination is the first turning point in the life of students, with high attentions from both teachers and students. Most students are weak at the electricity section during the examination. How to improve students' basic knowledge of electricity and the ability to solve the electrical problems in the limited revision time is a key concern of physics teachers in junior middle schools.This research is devoted to applying the mind map, a visual and nonlinear thinking tool which can promote the thinking arrangement and the thinking development, to the electricity revision of junior physics to improve the students' academic performance.In this study, the current situation and the existing problems of physics teaching are first identified by means of the pre-test and questionnaire survey taken by the students in my junior middle school. Second, a literature review on the domestic and foreign research status of mind map and its theoretical explanation is performed. Third, the mind map that is specially designed to assist the revision of the electricity section is experimented on a group of grade three students from Shanghai Qingpu Experimental Middle School.Through the post-test, the interview and the questionnaire survey, the outcomes from the teaching that uses the mind map with the traditional teaching method are compared. The results show that when the students who have no significant difference with each other use the mind map to finish the electricity revision, there was a very significant difference. Furthermore, the use of the mind map to the grade three students in different learning abilities is very helpful for reviewing the basic knowledge, developing problem-solving ideas, developing learning interest and stimulating learning self-confidence. |
