The new e ducational idea under the global background specially emphasizes t he comprehensive development of the educ ational object. Brie fly speaking, the comprehensive development of education is specifically refers to t he balanced development education of moral, i ntellectual, physical, ae sthetics and labor education. In order to implement comprehensive education, as for basic education, our country's education department pays more and more attentio n to music and art education at present while emphasizes cultural education at the same time.Each subject has it's important significance to the educational object, and each has it's own teaching characteristics. Art educati on(hereinafter refers to as aesthetic), which is a vital part of our compulsory education, in addition to it's own great importance to the educational object, it has a close r elationship with each subject in basic education as well, th us effectively help other subjects to better educate students. In general, there are two types of art education, in a broad se nse, the aesthetic education is to penetr ate the pr inciples of aesthetic t o various subject s while in narrow sense, it refers to art teaching. Here in this article refers to the latter. The importance of aesthetic education is to cultivate people's sense of sensibility, thus improve the creativity and aesthetic taste according to the standards and rules of it. In order to make the article correct and more powerful with detailed arguments so as to achieve our research goals, we studied on the present situation of the basic art curriculum in Xiangtan City. During the research, we conducted some interviews and questionnaires to some of t he school's working or retired art teachers and students, on the basis of investigation and study, we have summarized the teaching experience and some effective suggestions for students, combined with my own teac hing practice, as a r esult, we concluded t hat aesthetic can not only affect the psychological and physiological development of junior high school students, but also helps students to understand their own in art learning with different endowments and interests. For exampl e: the ability to gras p the color, the abilit y to recognize the image and so on, so a s to further improve the advantages of art courses to speed up the pace of implementation of the curriculum.This article embarks fr om the art cour se contents, teachi ng methods and the characteristics of the curriculum, we analyzed the value of aesthetic to arouse junior middle school students' learning interests, to improve st udents' aesthetic ability and aesthetic education, etc, especially the existing problems of pre sent junior middle school aesthetic education, so a s to expl ore the e ffective ways and me asures of improving students' aesthetic ability in junior middle scho ol students' art t eaching. Thus to give full play to art teaching and expand the development space of students.
