Professional student associations in Secondary vocational schools refer to voluntary organizations of mass students with common interests for the purpose of developing students’ vocational skills which are built on professions.Professional student associations are the main forces of students’ extracurricular activities in Secondary vocational schools.They can build important stages for students improving their qualities.They can provide an important environment which will benefit campus cultural construction.They are also of vital significance in developing students’ vocational skills,promoting the cooperation between colleges and firms,improving students’ professional qualities,forming students’ ideological and moral ideas,enhancing student’ interpersonal skills,strengthening employment competitiveness and so on.In this paper,the background of the selected topic and its significance for research is clarified from the point of view of the characteristics of the secondary vocational school students.The connotations,characteristics,functions,present situations and existing problems of professional student associations in Secondary vocational schools are analyzed,which is benefit of the guidance for professional student associations and its self growth.At the same time,the construction and growth of vocational school student organizations are studied and discussed,based on questionnaire survey and interviewing some of administrators,teachers,members of professional student associations in secondary vocational school in this city.Typical cases are cited to make a concrete analysis,to discuss some of the major problems in the development of professional associations.Some suggestions are put forward to and a deep reflection is made.
