The Research On Students' Ideological And Political Education In Independent Colleges In The Sight Of Extracurricular Activities

Independent college means an institution of higher education with the implement of undergraduate courses or above collaborating with social organizations and individuals except organs of state, and held by non-state financial funds. As an important component of private higher education for public welfare, independent college is of great independence, complementariness and irreplaceability and its students are marked by the public for the scores of college entrance examination, family background and so on, hence they are different from the students of public undergraduate universities for their characteristics. As the offspring of the new era, students from independent colleges are not only the precious possessions of country's developing the cultivation of higher education, but also the pillars of future development of our motherland. However, ideological and political education is the essence of undergraduates' overall education and it's a vital channel to foster ideological and political quality and moral education, as well as the capacity of innovation and coordination. As for finding specific ways to maximize the effect of working on students' ideological and political education from independent colleges, it's of great significance to improve the effectiveness of their ideological and political education towards the research.This paper firstly study on the characteristics of students from independent colleges. Above all, analyzing the disparity of academic scores, ideas, behaviors, mode of thinking, and attitudes towards life between students of independent colleges and public undergraduate universities through the survey. This paper believes that students from independent colleges have difficulties in accepting the traditional teaching way of ideological and political education in the classroom and their teachers' echoing from the textbooks as well as inflexible teaching context. It analyzes and studies from the problems and solutions of students'ideological and political education from independent colleges bringing "extracurricular activities" to foster students' thoughts. In order to provide references to work on ideological and political education through extracurricular activities in colleges and universities and besides, develop innovative and practical teaching way of ideological and political education in traditional classes, this paper comparatively studies the effectiveness of ideological and political education between taking extracurricular activities and traditional teaching way in the classes. On the basis of former studies, this paper has discovered a new thought, method and theory to converge ideological and political education with professional education, individual ideal with the achievement of personal value, as well as speculative knowledge with social practice.
