| English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education(2011 version)states that English teaching should focus on the individual features and differences of every language learner.(Ministry of Education,2012: 3)The State’s Medium-and-Long Term Planning Framework for Education Reform and Development(2010-2020)also emphasizes that the potential strength of each learner be developed(Ministry of Education,2010).So teachers should present their learner-centered belief in teaching objectives,teaching contents,teaching process,teaching evaluation and in the development and utilization of teaching resources.In classroom teaching,the teachers should identify students’ learning aptitude strengths,design learning proposals to articulate their strength and apply it into the practical English learning.Strength education is the actual practice which guides the learners to their individual strength in order to achieve higher learning efficiency.(Lu,2015: 6)This research argues that English learning proposal based on the strength of language aptitude can promote junior high school students’ English learning efficiency.An experiment has been probed into:(1)What are the shared features of the junior high school students with language aptitude strength?(2)What are the impacts of the English learning proposals based on language aptitude strength on junior high school students?First,before the experiment,three research subjects had been selected via questionnaire,interview and classroom observation.Then,a pre-test was taken to them so as to find out their learning proposals were made to meet their needs and choices.By the end of the experiment,another test and interview were carried out to find out the impacts of the proposals on the English learning of the three research subjects.Research data have shown that(1)the junior high school students with language aptitude strength share five features: more capable in coding the phonics;better memories;better at induction and summarization;rich structure of English information;more sensitive to the meaning differences of English vocabulary.(2)the English learning proposals based on language aptitude strength can enhance the students’ capability in coding the phonics,perceiving the grammars,inducting the grammar rules,and maintaining memories. |
