With the rapid development of modern society and the rising frequency of interpersonal interactions, friendly interactions and close cooperation have become the new educational theme of this century. Since the oral communicative teaching method plays an important role in improving students' language cultivated manners. The Chinese curriculum of compulsory education adopts oral communicative training instead of the old listening and speaking training to highlight Chinese curriculum's value and its communicative function. The general objective of oral communicative teaching method is stipulated clearly in Compulsory Education Standard of Chinese Curriculum(2011 Edition). It clearly defined the general goal of oral communication teaching which includes developing students' ability to listen,express, and communicate and improving students' ability to apply oral language for making interpersonal communications and social interactions with a civilized manner. What have been presented above are the basic requirement and direction of Chinese teaching in primary school.With the development of curriculum reform, how the oral teaching method in primary school is going in past ten years? In order to find the answer, this research selects A primary school in Changzhi City, Shanxi Province as a sample to conduct a case study by using questionnaire and interview methods among students and teachers in primary school. The major finds are presented as follow: students are interested in oral communicative course and they are eager to communicate, but students have less interests in oral communication which offered by teaching material; they expect a more life-style content in the textbook; students are not satisfied with traditional teaching method and they expect more interactions and communications with the teacher; students are tired of the old teaching model and they expect various kinds of interaction, such as discussions in group, debates and performance activities;students are confident in the ability of oral communication and they think that their ability of expression and organization are improved greatly. The survey also shows that the understanding of oral communicative teaching method by teachers are insufficient; teaching objectives designed by teachers are ambiguous; the form of oral communicative teaching method is simplex; teachers paid less attentions to students' ability of oral communicatingskills; an overwhelming majority of teachers are not satisfied with their own teaching effects.According to the results above, in order to improve the situation of oral communicative teaching method in a primary school, there are some valuable suggestions as follows. Firstly,teachers should understand that oral communicative teaching method plays an important role in their teaching. Secondly, it is important to highlight the students' subjective status, for keeping greatly interesting in oral communicative teaching method. Moreover, it is not only necessary to set reasonable oral communication curriculum to make it school-based and life-style but also crucial to applying flexible and varied oral communicative teaching methods to training students' oral communication ability in multiple ways. Last but not the least, implementing diversified evaluations and paying full attention to students' development on oral communication are coordinative significant.
