Information technology gives the vitality for the education,making the teachers in ordinary primary and secondary schools with a well knowledge about the ability of applying information technology.However,the ability of the special education teachers does not been taken seriously. Impaired people in our country can be divided into three categories: hearing impaired,mentally retarded and visually impaired.People with hearing impairment accounted for the highest proportion.Therefore, the application of information technology in teaching hearing impaired studentsis valid for great concern.Confined to the ability of applying information technology has not yet formed a clearcriterion,based on the characteristics and special needs of students with hearing impairment,this study actively explore importance of the information technology for the students’ teaching and rehabilitation.Eventually,the reasearch build the " Ability Modelof Applying Information Techology of Teachers for Hearing-Impaired Students in Education and Rehabilitation" and the “Ability Standard of Applying Information Techology of Teachers for Hearing-Impaired Students”.In order to make sure the criteria is practical,some experts are invited to review the standards for two times.The study uses survey research to investigate the current situation of teachers’ ability,and get the conclusion that it is necessary toimprove theability of applying information technologyfacilities, information technology instructional design and implementation,softwareand healing equipment.With the gap between the status quo and criteria been found,the research builds thetraining needs: 1. Information technology skills, including the ability to use software,hardware,assistive technology and rehabilitation equipment; 2. The teaching design and implementation with the help of information technology including the resources design, activity design; the ability of rehabilitation with the help of information technology, including individualized education plan(IEP), individualized support plan(ISP). 3. The design of evaluationtool and electronic archive.
