Application Of Flat Design To Mobile Learning Resources Interface Design

With the development of mobile network technology,the mobile devices are more and more popular.Mobile learning has become a normal phenomenon,and a lot of mobile-learning resources are made.The quality of the mobile-learning resource’s level is the foundation of whether the Mobile Learning is carried out successfully or not.Now,people concern more of the organization and design of mobile learning resources than the interface design.Currently,there are many problems in Mobile-learning resource interface design such as the information is redundancy,the poor transplanting,the interaction is not friendly and efficiently enough and the style of the interface cannot meet the aesthetic needs of people,and so on.Today,the pace of life is increasing faster and faster,more and more people hope that the interface will be simple and efficient.Therefore,the improvement of mobile-learning resources interface design is essential for the development of the mobile-learning.Flat design,a minimalist art style,is becoming popular recently.It focuses on the visual minimalism and the best expression of the function.It aims at reaching the most detailed functions with the simplest interface.This design removes the 3D decoration so that the information is highlighted again as the core.It is loved by people very much because of the highly generalized concepts and the simple straightforward expression.In the small screen,fewer buttons and options make the interface very beautiful and elegant.Not only used easily,but conveys information quickly and accurately.Based on cognitive load theory,Informal learning theory and the design theory,try to merge the style of the popular flat design into the interface design of mobile learning resources,seek the integration between education design and art design interface design,wish to provide some optimization strategies for the interface design of mobile learning resources.First of all,analysis the problems in the interface design of mobile learning resources.From the flat design’s concept,expound characteristics and advantages of flat design;Then,according to interview about the interface from mobile learner,conjunction with the interface design principles in mobile learning resources,elaborate the interface design content with flat design in mobile learning resources.Finally,make a proven,take one of the multimedia courseware as an example to implement the design content.And by organization of learners to the use the courseware,then make a questionnaire among these learners to get interface feedback,and make the conclusion from analyzing of the investigations.Research shows,taking the flat design into in the interface design of mobile learning resources has the following advantages: the mobile learning resource which use the flat design,has the small memory so it can save space;Then,the beautiful interface can meet the aesthetic needs of learners;what’s more,it can reduce the external cognitive load of learners and Improve the learning efficiency.
