| This study takes the cultural capital theory as a research perspective. We discuss that whether the cultural capital related to the undergraduates will affect their academic performance in the field of university. We induce the previous studies and think that the main cultural capital which the undergraduates can possess or can get is divided into four categories:The Family cultural capital, the School culture capital, the Class culture capital, the Dormitory culture capital in this study. We use the self-made questionnaire for empirical research. Through the relevant statistical analysis of the data, we test the study hypothesis at last.The thesis is divided into the following four chapters. It includes the introduction, the theoretical framework of the study, the empirical test of the study and the suggestions and countermeasures. The conclusions of the study are as follows. In the demographic variables, only in the different grades of the group, the number of scholarship students will have significant differences. In the institutionalized cultural capital of the family level, the father’s occupation type only has a significant negative relevance to ranking professional courses. In the objectified cultural capital of the family level, the books or paintings has significant positive correlation with the students specialized required course achievement. And the annual household income, the study, the books or scholarship all have a significant positive relevance to the number of scholarship. In the embedded cultural capital of the family level, the parents’ educational mode, family atmosphere has a significant positive correlation with the score of professional required courses; the parents’ education shows a significant positive correlation with professional compulsory course grade. And family atmosphere also has a significant positive relevance to the number of scholarship. In the objective cultural capital of the school level, Sports activities and libraries are both have a significant positive relevance to the score of professional required courses, In the institutionalized cultural capital of the class level, the class’s system and the class’s honor are both have a significant positive relevance to the number of scholarship. In the institutionalized cultural capital of the dormitory level, the dormitory system has a significant positive relevance to the score of professional required courses and the professional compulsory class ranking. The dormitory’s honor has a significant positive relevance to the number of scholarship. In terms of influence significant size:Family cultural capital> the Class cultural capital> the School Cultural Capital> the Dormitory cultural capital. Finally we put forward to establish the correct values of the family culture, strengthen the construction of the democratic management system of college class, use the library to enrich the cultural life of University and pay attention to the construction of the honor system to improve the promotion of the undergraduates’grades. |
