The Study On Sexual Education Development Of Adolescent In American School

Sex is the part of human beings, which is very related to the process of regeneration and multiplication of mankind. In fact, people are always willing to understand sex as possible as they can. Nowadays, sex education proves to be more and more important with the development of politic, economy and culture. Because it is associated with social stability, health and wellness. Owing to the national specific politic and culture, sex education of the USA has experienced a long and winding way.Research on adolescents’ sex education at school means a lot for they are the active part of sexual activity. The paper makes it clear how adolescents’ sex education in American school develops. Besides, the paper analyzes this phenomenon in theory.Undoubtedly, this study will give China some consideration and enlightenment.The paper will fall into five parts. Part one is an introduction, which briefly introduce the research background and significance, the definition of related basic concepts, research of domestic and overseas, and the research methods. Part two organizes the development of adolescents’ sex education in the USA based on the time,which respectively are occurrence period, exploring period without guidance, rapid development of comprehensive sex education, and stability period of abstinence-only education and comprehensive sex education. Part three compares comprehensive sex education with abstinence-only education from the objectives, contents, principles,and methods. Next there are two vivid cases including the sex education of public schools in the state of Illinois and California. Part four analyzes the features and reasons of this development, which is absolutely significant. Part five analyzes the conditions of Chinese sex education of school and concludes some enlightenments on China according to this research.
