With the furious international competition, students who are with higher comprehensive quality are needed. Therefore, Ministry of Education comes up with a proposal whose starting point is to promote students' integrated development and to grow healthily, makes each student be a capable person.By applying literature research methods,this article learns about the theoretical basis and current situation of Student-based Education, concludes research meaning of effective biology teaching; Applying summarizing methods, this paper processes teaching design according to Student-based Education and combining teaching cases provides effective teaching strategies.This article does a research on Balalong school freshmen in Ordos and carries out effective teaching strategies for one year according to Student-based Education. By the method of survey study, this paper aims at learning about study attitude of students, initiative of learning, changes on their marks and teaching efficiency of teachers. Here are the results:(1) According to the Student-based Education, junior biology reaching should be designed from three factors, they are establishing learning community, excelling teaching methods and changing learning style.(2)According to the Student-based Education, effective junior biology teaching should be carried our from three factors, the fully preparation of teaching, excelling teaching process and adding more experimental activities.(3)By Student-based Education's teaching style, students are more interested in learning biology, they can be more concentrated in class, take part in group activities positively, strengthen the awareness of team cooperation, finish homework on time, look up more biology related information, have better attitude in learning.(4) During the teaching process, teachers respect the nature of students, give students more time in thinking and more opportunities to discuss and learn by themselves.Teachers connect biology with daily life, and ask more helpful questions.(5)Comparing the final exam marks of Balagong School with Urban Middle School, the marks of Balagong School is 71.99, that of Urban Middle School is 69.4, P >0.05,differences are slight. After a term of Student-based Education practice, the marks of Balagong School is 75.8, that of Urban Middle School is 70.5, the difference value is 5.3,u-value is 6.77, P < 0.01, it proves that the practice of Student-based Education is effective and we can see that the marks of Balagong School has improved a lot.To sum up in conclusion, Student-based Education can meet the requirement of effective teaching on biology and enhance Students' comprehensive abilities and academic records. Because of inexperience and being pressed for time,the paper still needs perfecting on construction strategy and the process of practice. Student-based Education on effective biology teaching needs further study.
