In the current society, higher education plays an important role. In recent years, researchers has made certain progress in the research of higher teaching. However, many universities still adopt traditional teaching model, and learning content is still the industrial civilization achievements, neglecting the dominant position of students in teaching, according to the current practice of university teaching situation. Therefore, there is an urgent need for a new teaching concept to change the status quo. Research-based teaching meets this demand, which is correspond to the traditional teaching.However, teachers and students have difficulties in practice of research-based teaching, such as, the degree of teacher's guide and the allocation of study time.Author combines research-based teaching and flipped classroom to solve the problems.This article is divided into five parts:The first part describes the background, purpose, the idea of this study, and explains the necessity of the reform of higher education. The second part shows what is research-based teaching and flipped classroom, mainly including the connotation, characteristics of research-based teaching and flipped classroom. The third part is based on the above analysis, author analyzes the feasibility of combining the research-based teaching and flipped classroom, designing the learning support system and learning activities. The fourth part introduces the practice case in the undergraduate course and the teaching result analysis, because there are differences in the cognitive, psychological and other aspects between undergraduate and graduate students, the author studies these respectively. The fifth part shows the practice situation in graduate course. The sixth part is based on the above research, author summarizes and analyzes the main work and deficiencies.
