Analysis Of University Basketball Players’ Anxiety And Coping Research

Choosing the Sixteenth CUBA final four male and female college basketball teams, altogether ninety-six players, as objects of study, this thesis conducted the research from the following aspects: firstly, using Martens’ s CSAI-2 to understand the anxiety of the college high-level basketball players,brought by competition; secondly,analyzing it and its causes; thirdly, offering the best solutions through the practice of the Analytic Hierarchy Process;fourthly,providing theoretical basis and and empirical research against competition anxiety, by the establishment of simple Hierarchical Analysis Equation,proving the feasibility of the Analytic Hierarchy Model. The research is as follows.Firstly, the current situation of competition anxiety of the college high level basketball players.From the cognitive-state anxiety, 44.8% players were experiencing anxiety, 5.2% of whom were serious. Gender differentiates the cognition among the players greatly, p<0.01>, the average cognition level of the male players was lower.From somatic state anxiety, 32.3% players were anxious, 1% serious. From self-confidence, the overall level was high, while 20.8% of the players was low. Different levels of the players had no clear differences in cognitive-state anxiety, somatic anxiety and self-confidence,p>0.05. Gender played little differences in somatic anxiety and self-confidence, p>0.05.Secondly, this thesis offered best solutions to different kind of anxiety, as cognitive-state anxiety, self-confidence and somatic anxiety, listed according to their importance. And their best solutions are as solving the problems, dealing with emotions, avoidance and surmounting.To gain self-confidence, one can do pre-game preparations, intensify training, simulate training,have a vacation to forget the difficulties, adjust,look for emotional support.To regulate somatic anxiety, one can find some entertainments, do what one loves to do, self-regulate,meditate,have a vacation to forget the difficulties,go with the flow.To control cognitive anxiety, one can lower goals, understand victory and defeat are both common,block information, look for emotional support and meditation.Thirdly, according to the survey of the female basketball players of HUST,CUBA, the Analytic Hierarchy Model built up in this study was in line with reality; the Hierarchy Analysis Equation can get high predication accuracy; the trainers can train players according to this study more efficiently.
