The ideo-political education of college students is always the essential priority of the CPC (Communist Party of China) and Chinese government. The Suggestions about Enhancing and Reforming the Work of College Students’ Ideological and Political Education, the guideline of enhancing and reforming college students’ ideo-political education in the new era, was issued by the Central Committee of CPC and the State Council in August,2004(namely "No.16document" of central government). For the implementation of No.16document, a series of supporting documents were put forward. This indicates that the CPC and Chinese government has set the national strategy level for college students’ ideo-political education. The independent institute is the new form of higher education. With its rapid development, the independent institute’s ideo-political education should be strengthened. Moreover, because of its special school-running mechanism, external environment, students’ characteristics, and developing stages, the independent institute’s ideo-political education will be faced with more complicated situation. The traditional educational model is far from enough to meet the demands of independent institutes. Various things need to be taken into consideration, including the ecological environment construction of the ideo-political education, the complete fulfillment of the implicit and explicit function of all the related educational individuals and groups from a wider social system angle, the enhancement of ideo-political information transmission, and the combination between ecological environment construction and information ecological environment construction. Based on the above discussions, the study on the ecological environment construction of the ideo-political education in independent institutes has its practical meaning and theoretical value.Based on the literature review, this paper analyses the present ecological environment situation of the ideo-political education in independent institute and existing problems. It discusses the ecological environment construction of the ideo-political education in independent institute and puts forward relative countermeasures and suggestions. It is sincerely hoped that this paper can offer some insights and implications for the promotion of the ideo-political education achievements in independent institute.The paper is composed of four parts. Chapter one is the introduction. Chapter one firstly attaches great importance to ideo-political quality, which is highly emphasized by CPC and the Chinese government. Then, by comparing the official statistical data about the school and student’s number between common universities and independent institutes, it puts forward the importance of independent institutes in higher education. Next, through summarizing students’ general characteristics in independent institutes, chapter one puts forward the potential challenges and the significance of ideo-political education in independent institutes. The following part discusses the effect of whole environment construction on the ideo-political education by using Marx’s environment-create-man and man-create-environment viewpoint. With the brief analysis on ecological features of ideo-political education, it points out that ideo-political education practice should be focused on the ecological environment construction. The last part analyzes the present research situation domestically and abroad, and puts forward this research thought, content and significance.Chapter two is the theoretical basis. Three core concepts have been firstly defined, namely independent institute, ecological environment of ideo-political education, and ecological environment of ideo-political education in independent institute. The compositions of ecological environment of ideo-political education in independent institute and their inter-relationship are critically analyzed. Next, chapter two gives a brief introduction to educational ecology, interest-related parties’ theory, information ecology and educational thoughts of constructivism. The validity and necessity of the four theories’ application in ideo-political education are explained respectively.Chapter three mainly discusses the present situation of ideo-political education in independent institute, its potential problems and relative causes. Currently, independent institute, with independent campus, has been making rapid progress in the micro-environment construction of ideo-political education. Despite the development, there still exist some problems, such as the weak systematization of ecological environment construction, the lack of information ecological environment consciousness, the incompleteness of campus culture system, the aim lack of teaching model, the deficiency of focus on teachers’ideo-political education, the ignorance of ideo-political education in major courses, the lost and distortion of family education, and the low social identification etc..The possible causes, including the growth stage of independent institute, the process of software construction, and shortage of mature guidance, are briefly analyzed.Chapter four mainly puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions to the present problems of the ecological environment construction in independent institute. It first clarifies two conceptions, namely the systematic global framework and the enhancement of information ecological environment construction. Next, the construction of ideo-political education subjects and environment should be strengthened, including campus culture construction for harmonious campus environment, the teaching model improvement of ideo-political education, and the mutual promotion between teaching and educating. The family cooperation is mentioned in the following part. The influence of family education on students’quality is mainly discussed. Forth, media environment should be purified. The social responsibility of media should be promoted to ensure the right direction of public opinion. The final part emphasizes the students’ subjectivity. That is to say, students’ ideo-political education should be internalized. The theme of this chapter is that the whole ecological environment optimization of the ideo-political education can be achieved through local optimization because of the information transmission in the ideo-political education process.
