| In recent years the new generation of migrant workers has gradually become an important part of city flowing population in China. Both government and the academic world focus on the social inclusion level of new generation of migrant workers, causing a wealth of research results. In generally, the new generation of migrant workers accepted more education than the old generation, and they have a stronger desire to integrate with the urban society. However, the level of their social inclusion has not showed a distinct difference with the old generation. Most of the young migrant workers are living at the bottom of urban society. To what degree are new generation of migrant workers integrated with urban society,concerning both the benefits of them and the social stability and development.Base on international migration theory and research findings of migrant workers in China, this paper starts a research on the perspective of social inclusion. This research analyses the economic inclusion and cultural inclusion of the new generation of migrant workers in Nanning by questionnaire and fieldwork. The result finds that there is a non-equilibrium urban social inclusion, the cultural inclusion is better than the economic inclusion. On the one hand, human capital, social capital and policy structures interact on each other, hindering new generation of migrant workers’ economic inclusion. On the other hand, new generation of migrant workers accept urban lifestyle and language, and have been an active participant in local customs and habits, showing a development in cultural inclusion. The situation of non-equilibrium urban social inclusion has an important impact on new generation of migrant workers’ behaviors and choices. It may cause some terribly negative consequences.The government should pay attention to the impact of this non-equilibrium urban social inclusion, taking effective Methods to improve the living conditions and earned income of the new generation of migrant workers. And try to eliminate discriminatory culture in the urban society. Foster positive subculture for the new generation of migrant workers, and promote their cultural connotation. |
