Tunisia, belong to the Arab countries in maghreb area, is located in the continent of Africa's northernmost. In 1881,Tunisia became the French protectorate. From this period, Tunisian began to fight for national independence and democracy. Before the country independence, due to lack of practical thought limitation,Tunisia held several democratic movement and in the end have failure. In 1956, Tunisia gained independence, bourguiba leadership of the New-Destory became the ruling party. Bourguiba served as the Tunisian President and for leading the country towards independence and has won the honorary title of "top fighters", then "New-Destory" renamed "socialist New-Destory party". Because of his ultra-strong feelings of superiority and conceit, bourguiba's extremely-strong desire for control, including carrying out one-party system, suppressing as well as objecting to the Islmist organization strongly and making himself be the lifelong president by revising constitution, carried through every aspect of the country during his 30 year's dominance. In the later 10 years of bourguiba's dominance, with the low-speed of the social-class contradictions, people lived in miserable lives which led to the break-out of a famous 'bloodless coup' in Tunisia's history of 1987. After Bourguiba fell from power, Ben Ali started being in power. At the beginning of Ben Ali's regime,he renamed the governing party 'Rearrangement Constitution Democratique', advocated political pluralization strongly and admitted the legality position of Islamist organization. Then he was elected to be the president of Tunisia successfully in 1989's general election. Later Ben Ali administration gradually exposed one-party system after the elections in 1994 and 1999.,which was similar to the former governing party. He started to suppress the Islam Party and tended to recognize himself as a permanent president after this. But, it cannot be denied that he had made a certain contribution to Tunisia contribution, especially to Maghreb as a developed region and adapted this country to global economy and diversified development. However, the unemployment rate is larger the deep-rooted phenomenon still exists, and poses a great challenge to rulers and test, which is destined to the development of the constitutional democratic road is still full of various difficulties.
