As the new technology emerges, it pushes mass media to develop quickly. Now we will see many news report which involves public figures or ordinary people. The ordinary people may get quite great attention because they are reported in the news.In this circumstance, their personal privacy may be invaded due to these press reports, thus hurting their feelings and causing trouble in their life.We now have no specific law for protection of the right to privacy in our country. So no matter from the perspective of theory or from daily practice, study on the topic-how news invade and make protection of right of privacy under the new media environment has great value. How to re-evaluate the change of right to privacy and work on the protecting ways in our country is the focus of this thesis.First, I will start with the traditional theory of privacy, discuss about the basic intension and extension, history and basis. Then i will analyze the changes and development of privacy under new media environment, which lay the foundation for the clarification. The following situations would be discussed with vivid examples happened. How should a reporter do when dealing with disaster accidents; how should reporter do when dealing with a hot topic in society; and how should a reporter do when public figures are involved in the news? In this frame,1 will use ethic theory to analyze these invasions of privacy. With all the process, i would have some suggestion on this topic:basic ethic principles should be re-established in society; the new reporters should adhere to the moral standards for the occupation; every individual should make their daily address more cautious and careful as well.
