| For a long time, researchers mainly focus on the formation and development of Deng Xiaoping theory and the historical status and so on. However, researchers rarely to inspect the historical origin of Deng Xiaoping’s theory. And the study of its historical origin should be a very important aspect of the study of Deng Xiaoping theory, because history can’t be cut off, do not understand the past, it will hinder our understanding of the current problem.By reading this article, we can make people more understand the life of a great man Deng Xiaoping. It also can make people know that Deng Xiaoping theory was produced in 1978, but many of the important ideas in the theory have been formed before the Cultural Revolution.More specifically, this paper firstly introduces the background, significance and research status at home and abroad. Then, the research focus on the source of the "Cultural Revolution" before seeking truth from facts, the source of the thought of seeking truth from facts. External source is mainly to absorb the basic principles of Marxism and Mao Zedong’s theory of seeking truth from facts. Internal sources mainly from Deng Xiaoping’s own life experience to investigate. Then, this paper introduces the main contents of Deng Xiaoping’s "Cultural Revolution" before the thought of seeking truth from facts, this thesis think the content can be roughly divided into six pieces, including respecting objective law, attach importance to science and technology, not superstition and blind obedience to authority and so on.
