The Study On Honesty And Integrity-a Socialist Core Value

In November,2012,the Report to the eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China(the report to the 18 th Party Congress)explicitly points out “honesty and integrity” as one of the aims of individual value.Therefore,the study on integrity,which is a Socialist core value,can carry forward the traditional culture,provide material for the enrichment of Marxist theory and references to future practice of Socialist core values.In a word,it has both theoretically and realistically guiding significance.The second part mainly explores the theoretical basis of the advancement of honesty and integrity as a Socialist core value,which outlines the development of the thesis.Firstly,the author analyzes the concept of honesty and integrity in Chinese traditional culture,expounding and interpreting ancient sages’ thoughts of honesty and integrity in their self-cultivation,dealing with things,engagement in politics and business from the perspective of mainly Confucianism.Secondly,the essay concludes and analyzes the basics of western concepts of honesty and integrity.Thirdly,it further investigates Marxist concepts of honesty and integrity in politics,economy and culture level.Lastly,this part ends up with a comprehensive analysis of concepts of honesty and integrity in politics of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics,drawing the clue of new China’s ancient leaders since its foundation.The second part,also the key of this thesis,explorers basic connotations of concepts of honesty and integrity in politics of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics.It bases on the traditional Chinese and western concept as well as Marxist and Marxist with Chinese characteristics concept.Combining China’s current historical back-ground,it investigates honesty and integrity’s unique modern connotation from individual as well as social and national levels.The third part,based on social reality,concentrates on the loss of honesty and integrity in China’ s current politics,economy and culture.Also,it further systematically analyzes the causes from moral,systematic and social levels.The fourth and last part is the core of the thesis,which is based on the analysis of the loss and causes of honesty and integrity which have been discussed above.It provides ways to achieve honesty and integrity through perfecting social credit system and constructing national credit mechanism,through strengthening the government’s credibility and leading the building of the social integrity,through exerting the role of moral demonstration and fostering civic and moral integrity.
