In May 2010, the British Conservative-Liberal coalition government came into power, ending the Labor Party's thirteen-year-long ruling. David Cameron, the Conservative leader, was the new Prime Minister. Facing the dramatic changes after the financial crisis of 2008. Cameron's coalition government implemented a lot of new policies both at home and abroad so as to maintain British big power status. More specifically, the coalition centered on reducing deficit in the'age of austerity'. Meanwhile it also adopted quantitative easing policy to increase the capital movement in market, which was supposed to bring economic revival. In foreign policy areas, the coalition government put forward 'a new approach of policy'in the context of a networked and interconnected world. On one hand, it spared no effort to practice'business foreign policy', strengthening economic cooperation with those emerging powers like China, India and Brazil. On the other hand. the coalition government attached great importance to spreading human rights, free. democracy, and supporting humanitarian intervention.In the context of British internal and external adjustment, UK-China relations presented some features. The coalition government vigorously strengthened economic and trade relations with China, while paying attention to China's democracy and human right situations. By looking up official document and British high-level officials pubic pronouncements, like David Cameron (Prime Minister from May 2010 to the present). William Hague (Foreign Secretary May 2010 to July 2014) and George Osborne (Chancellor of the Exchequer). This essay was trying to analyze the content and feature of UK's China policy in the period of coalition government and trying to explain critical factors influencing the decision-making process of Britain's China policies. Importantly, some thoughtful ideas about UK - China relations were concluded in the end of this article.
