The Study Of Postmodernist Elements In Danny Boyle's Films

Danny Boyle is a famous film director in contemporary England.Its main works are Shallow Grave,Trainspotting,The Beach and so on.In 2009,its movie Slumdog Millionaire was awarded 8 Oscar awards.We review the movie works that Danny Boyle has been doing since the beginning of the year,which shows a distinct personal impression in the process of story building and audio-visual expression.It also shows a certain degree of postmodernism style.This paper mainly reviews Danny Boyle's film works,and refine the analysis presented in the works of postmodernism elements,combines the academic theory,in-depth study of the artistic features embodied in these elements,and analyze its actual role played by the value in communication.This article is divided into five chapters.The first chapter outlines the characteristics of post modernism and the characteristics of post modernist movies,and discusses the relationship between Danny Boyle's films and post-modernism.The content of the second chapter to the fourth chapter is a detailed study of the postmodernist elements in Danny Boyle's films.The second chapter,in-depth analysis of the theme and character types of Danny Boyle's film,and the rebellious and anti traditionalism of the director's creation style are very significant in the expression of its movie theme.The theme of the movie can be summarized as the deep exploration of human nature,the bold use of elements such as drugs,violence and sex,and the concern about the relationship between ecology and human beings.The characters in Danny Boyle's films are also representative.The directors turn their attention to the bottom of the society,trying to convey the survival condition of the group to the public.The third chapter looks at the postmodernism of the narrative elements in the film from the "fragmentation" of the narrative structure,the compactness of the narrative rhythm and the anti tradition of the narrative way.The fourth chapter focuses on the audio-visual elements of the movie.The beauty of its pictures,the processing of black humor and theediting techniques of collage are all fully showing the characteristics of post modernist movies.The fifth chapter mainly discusses the ideological value conveyed by Danny Boyle's film,which is divided into three stages.First of all,social reality problems affect young people's value orientation.Secondly,the movie reveals a great difference in the outcome of life because of different choices.Finally,directors understand social problems from the perspective of society.They seem to be careless and full of great wisdom.This chapter explores the value of post modernism in Danny Boyle's movie and explores its ideological value and makes some thoughts and extensions.
