Controlling Public Opinion By Moralizing With Civility And Music In Han Dynasty

With the popularization of interconnected technology and the development of social media,public opinion has a great influence on modern society,how to deal with the crisis of public opinion is becoming more and more important.Many scholars have put forward to pay attention to public opinion before the emergence of mass media,to research public opinion events originating in Chinese cultural and with Chinese characteristics,and aim at Providing reference for modern public opinion research and public opinion practice by researching its formation,performance and influence.Chinese has always been a state of ceremonies,reflections on the communication cause of the Han Dynasty is that how did they control public opinion by moralizing with civility and music under the basic stable situation of society,maintaining national stability and promoting social progress.Han Yuefu Poetry is a collection of public opinion in the Han Dynasty with ballads as the main form,and the content comes from different strata such as the folk,the literati and the emperors.The public opinion in ancient China is actually class public opinion,we can understand the interaction between different classes from these texts with the method of literature analysis and case study,using the thinking method of induction and deduction.Through the summary and reasoning of the text of the Yuefu Poetry and the relevant historical literature,we can clarifying the content of the public opinion mechanism in the Han Dynasty,and summarize its characteristics.And this paper will help fill the gap in the study of the history of Chinese ancient public opinion.There are five chapters in this paper.the definition of concept and combing the origin of the thought are in the first chapter,the analysis of the poems of Han yue fu in the second chapter,to discuss how Yuefu can collect and disseminate public opinion as a public opinion institution,in the third chapter,the political ballads in the poems of Han yue fu are summed up,identifying the supervision by public opinion.Then,Study on Han Yuefu Poetry in the temple ritual and analyse their role in the guidance of public opinion and political propaganda in the fourth chapter.The fifth chapter is a summary of the preceding chapters,to summarize the characteristics of the public opinion mechanism.Through the study,the author divides the ballads in the Han Yuefu Poems into three categories,folk ballads reflect social customs and the true feelings of the underlying people,Political ballads express the political opinions of the masses,the temple ritual is the ruler leading propaganda songs.The three kinds of ballads reveal the truth in the interaction: The ruling class achieve public opinion through collection of Yuefu folk songs,Providing the communication channel from the bottom to the bottom of the public opinion;Reacting to political opinion that affects the foundation of the Dynasty and even developing the system of selecting officials based on public opinion;Establishing a social moral evaluation system and guiding public opinion by the traditional ritual activities.Compar with the tough policy,controlling public opinion by moralizing with civility and music is a soft way.But in the traditional society,pattern of communication is decided by one person,all measures are for the maintenance of rule.In essence,the system is a control mechanism.In the end,the paper summarizes the characteristics of the public opinion mechanism is that it is built based on a prosperous society,its fundamental purpose is to maintain feudal rule,It is a soft means of controlling public opinion,and intellectuals are of great importance in the response mechanism of public opinion in the Han Dynasty,so,the perfect educational system and the unification of their thoughts are also important contents of the mechanism of public opinion.
