Elementary Chinese Comprehensive Textbook Topics Study In Thai Vocational Colleges

Teaching materials are the basics of teaching activities,textbook plays an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.The booming development of Thai Chinese teaching calls for the increasing supply of Chinese teaching materials in Thailand.Compared with other educational institutions,the Thai vocational colleges have their own teaching characteristics.The employment-oriented students usually focus on practical Chinese learning.The students learning motivation and learning ability determine the topic choice of Chinese learning textbooks.This paper takes two textbooks used by Chinese learners in Samut Sakhon Technical College in Thailand as objects of investigation,selected Thai vocational colleges to use the more extensive local Chinese textbook " Chinese for Communication " and the overseas Chinese textbook "Experiencing Chinese",makes a comparative analysis of the topic contents of the Chinese teaching materials,such as the content of the topic、the principle of arrangement and the reproduction of functional projects,to summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the two sets of textbooks in terms of topics.Then by investigating the topics of interest among the students with questionnairies to find out the learners’ demand for Chinese teaching materials,so as to arouse the enthusiasm of learning,improve the effect quality of Chinese learning of Thai vocational students.
