Listening skill refers to being able to listen and comprehend what one is saying.In the process of learning a new language,listening always comes before speaking.Unable to understand what one is saying makes learning a new language difficult.During communication,listening is a “passive input”.Unable to understand what other is speaking hinders communication.Thus,the importance of listening instructions becomes obvious.Through four chapters,this article describes,analyzes,and suggests tips to Lao students in China listening instructions for beginners.The introduction helps us understand Chinese listening instruction for beginners is the most important part of learning Chinese by introducing the essence of listening instruction and reviewing the historical studies of Chinese listening instruction.For half a century,tremendous amounts of studies on Chinese listening instruction provide references for theory and teaching practices.However,the study of Lao students in China beginners Chinese listening instruction is a still a weak part in the studies of Chinese listening instruction.We will describe this topic systematically in the next few chapters.Chapter one is a description on the concept of Chinese listening instruction.By reading a large number of documents on the nature,tasks,subjective and objective causes of listening comprehension obstacles,and descriptions Chinese listening instruction,provides a solid theoretical basis for this paper.Chapter two is about the observation and analysis of the current status of Lao students in China beginners' listening instruction.This include detail descriptions and observations of students,course offered,textbooks,and teachers' instructional design from grade 5 classroom 5's students of our school.Also,analyses of students' test and finals in order to discover the obstacles of students' listening comprehension and the causes of those obstacles.In the very end,we will summarize and analyze these problems.Chapter three is on the suggestions given to the problems mentioned in theprevious chapter.Also suggestions for previewing for beginners Chinese listening instruction,in class training,after class reviewing methods,and solutions the obstacles encounter in the listening instruction.This article analyzes and examines our school's teaching experiences and the actual teaching situation at Listening Beginner Classes for Lao students of Yunnan Normal University in order to discover the problems and obstacles possess during the process of beginners' Chinese listening instruction.Then,it puts forward corresponding solutions to these problems.
