Face recognition is particularly important in the process of social communication, through face,we can get social information such as race, identity, gender, emotion and familiarity. The own face effect of face recognition is a hot topic in face recognition research in recent years. Most of them focus on the own race effect research of face recognition of different races, and the racial differences between Eastern and Western countries. However, there are relatively few studies on the own race effects among nationalities of the race.Inner Mongolia is a minority autonomous region with the Mongolian nationality as the main body. The Mongolian and Han people have formed the habitation characteristics of large and small living and small settlement, frequent exchanges and more contact. At present, there is no report on whether the Mongolian and Han nationality has its own effect.Based on the theory of contact experience,Mongolian and Han college students were selected as subjects, and the behavior and eye movement technology were used to explore the own race effect and characteristics of Mongolian and Han nationalities, and the face recognition of Mongolian and Han nationalities and different races(Caucasus). In study 1,the mixed design of 2(ethnic: Han,Mongolian)* 3(face race: Caucasus,Han and Mongolian)was conducted. The response time and discrimination index were used as dependent variables to explore the existence of the own race effect and its characteristics from the perspective of behavioral experiments. The experiment uses the learning-recognition paradigm, which includes two stages of learning and recognition. The results showed that there was no significant difference in recognition reaction time between Mongolian and Han nationalitysubjects, whether it is Han nationality or Mongolian faces, but the recognition of Caucasus face had a longer response time.Mongolian identification showed no significant difference in recognition discrimination between Mongolian and Han face.Recognition of Caucasus face had poor recognition and discrimination, while Han subjects showed no significant difference in recognition discrimination between Mongolian,Han and Caucasus faces.Study 2 use eye movement technology to further analyze the recognition characteristics and eye movement patterns of face recognition of different race faces in Mongolian and Han nationality.Experimental design and experimental paradigm are the same as experiments. The face is divided into three areas of interest, the eyes, the nose and the mouth. The results show that the Han and Mongolian subjects early processing mode scanning faces of different races have different,Han subjects for the first time at different race faces scanning position is the nose, the Mongolian race for the first time at different scanning picture position is the eye;the Mongolian and Han subjects to scan different race faces picture mode advanced processing is the same,in terms of the total fixation time and fixation point number, the Mongolian and Han were watching the longest time, watching the number most is the nose area, followed by the eyes, finally is the mouth. The conclusions are as follows.(1)In different races,Mongolians recognized the own race effect when they recognized the faces of the own face and Caucasus,in different nation of the same race, the Han and Mongolian faces did not have the own face effect faces have no effect. At the time of reaction, the Han nationality participants identified the own race effect when they recognized the faces of the own face and Caucasus. In terms of discrimination,Han nationality subjects did not appear the own race effect neither in different races nor in different nation of the same race.(2)The eye movement patterns of Mongolian and Han subjectswere identical in identifying own race faces and the other race faces. There are differences in eye movement patterns between Mongolian and Han subjects.
