Space Construction Of Chinese Ethnic Theme Films In The 21st Century

This paper selects the space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films as a research object since 21 st century.Based on the previous related studies and creations of Chinese ethnic theme films,the author applies the western Marxist space theory,film space theory,psychoanalytic film theory,feminist film theory and other theories,uses research methods of literature study,close reading,compaprative analysis and disciplinary crossing,to classify the space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films in 21 st century,through analyzing the narrative patterns and cultural expressions of space construction to study the causes and effects of space construction in these films.The first chapter is the introduction.The main contents are the origin of the research,the status of the research,the concept of Chinese ethnic theme films,the theories basis,the research methods and main innovation points of the thesis.The second chapter divides the space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films into urban space and indigenous space to analyze the main characters of the two types of space in these films.The third chapter studies the four narrative patterns of departure and root-seeking,"aphasia" and healing,dissimilation and assimilation,"gaze" and self-shaping in the urban/ indigenous space.The fourth chapter studies the cultural expressionsof the space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films since 21 st century.The cultural expressions of urban space have three characters.Firstly,the metaphor of "breach";secondly,the collision of culture;thirdly,the blend of space.The cultural expressions of the indigenous space have two characters,included the metaphor of "preservation" and the characterization of customs.The fifth chapter mainly discusses the causes of space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films since 21 st century,they can be attributed to hypercorrection,differential adherence and inheritance anxiety.The sixth chapter studies the two effects of space construction of Chinese ethnic theme films since 21 st century,which are the ethnic fables of reflexive modernity and the misconception of ethnic imagined construction.The seventh chapter of the paper is an epilogue that summarizes the above research and expends the research results.The author combines the recent cases of successful small-budget films that have been successfully promoted to the film market to analyze the future development direction of Chinese ethnic theme films to make some efforts for the creations of these films.
