A Report On The Translation Of Unconventional Gas Reservoirs (Excerpts)

With the advancement of science and technology,the exploration and development of unconventional oil and gas have become one of the national key projects.Therefore,the public awareness towards unconventional reservoirs should also be promoted at the same time.However,there are few translation books of unconventional reservoirs in China,not to mention the books which are completely translated under the guidance of Text Typology.The translation material is an excerpt from Unconventional Gas Reservoirs,and its report can be completed by virtue of the theory of Text Typology by Reiss and Newmark.In the process of translating,the translator paid much attention to linking the theory with practice,and he analyzed how to appropriately use theory to guide the translation practice and how to polish the translation so that the target text can become more authoritative.From the perspective of text types,this translation material belongs to informative text,whose function is to objectively and completely pass on message to the public.The translator analyzed the features of scientific text from lexical,syntactic and textual levels,and he used appropriate theory to analyze textual difficulties and summarized a few opinions on translation methods.
