As a traditional Chinese culture,Feng Shui has been rooted in Chinese folklore for more than thousands of years.Although publicizing science has been the mainstream,the folk customs of Feng Shui which is spiritual and ritual in traditional consciousness still exists in the grass-roots people's life practice,and becomes an important part of farmers' life.The study views the rural Feng Shui of Kaizhou,Chongqing as the research object,uses the way that combines field investigation,case interview and local literary method,stands in the perspective of folklore to explore and analyze it,so as to provide the reference for the correct understanding and scientific construction of rural society.The first chapter that is the introduction mainly explains the theory and historical development,reviews and rethinks the academic research results,which is related to FengShui,and puts forward the research contents and methods in this study.Chinese Feng Shui is on the basis of the traditional concepts of good or ill luck,which has gained the theory forms in early society and at the same time as the most respected celebrities' participation and efforts,constantly develops the new contents and new forms in the unique Chinese culture.The second chapter mainly studies the folklore form of the rural Feng Shui in the development of history,through the overall condition of kaizhou district.Before the Qing Dynasty,seeking a settlement on the basis of the landscape is an early from of Feng Shui practice.At the same period of time,the choice orientation is also applied to the Yin house,especially due to the attention to rock mass and burial flourish,but that water can affect Yin house is likely to appear in the Guo Pu period of the Jin Dynasty.After the Qing Dynasty,the forms of FengShui practice mainly include pagoda,Yin house,temple and residence,which is deeply influenced by the traditional concepts such as politics,religion,auspicious things and flourishing burial.Among them,the Feng Shui of the Yin house shows the distinctive characteristics of people's manipulation ofFeng Shui.Nowadays,the rural Feng Shui is still an important part of people's daily life,related to the traditional ideas and practices,their own experiences and the unique ways of thinking.The third chapter records how geomancer seeks Fengshui to know Fengshui practice which based on time,space and language power.It is a kind of auspicious culture.The most obvious feature of this auspicious culture is its strict choice of time and space.In a given ritual,although language still plays a role in transmitting information,a type of language with the participation of the Gods already possesses supernatural powers while another has special effects because of the habits of daily expression.Such are the results which people pray for auspiciousness.Through the cultural analysis of the local rural FengShui,Chapter four finds it has four characteristics and at the same time plays two functions.In terms of characteristics,the witchcraft behaviors are reflected in which people are trying to make good lucks that have no causal relationship with Feng Shui comes true.The secularity manifests itself in the fact that religious elements such as Gods enter people's daily life.Fulfillment is mainly reflected in people's belief that Feng Shui has achieved the good fortune they need.Complexity mainly refers to the complexity of the Feng Shui's theory and application of principles and methods,equally the interweaves of mystery and authenticity.The two functions are making Feng Shui root in traditional culture in the countryside.One is as a kind of effective method to avoid the evils while another is as a unique form of folk culture.
